Story

Artifact is a residential design studio based in Missoula, Montana, founded by Robert and Kiri Arndt.

We create fully bespoke architectural designs for clients who prioritize simplicity, craftsmanship, and deep connection to their home.

The name Artifact reflects our core belief

A home should be more than just a building — it should be a meaningful, enduring record of the lives shaped within it. Like an artifact, it holds memory and intention. It’s shaped by care, rooted in context, and built to last.

With over a decade of experience in custom construction and high-performance residential design, we’ve worked across the Pacific Northwest and Mountain West—designing homes that are as beautiful as they are buildable.

As a small, owner-led studio, we take on a limited number of projects each year. This allows us to work closely with every client, staying hands-on and focused—from first sketch to final detail. We prioritize thoughtful communication, close builder collaboration, and a design experience that feels as intentional as the home itself.
